In November 2016, Dominique Giroud filed two civil claims against the Walliser Bote and RTS for violation of personality rights. Both complaints are accompanied by claims for damages. Dominique Giroud is demanding a minimum of CHF 15 million from RTS; an initial hearing will be held shortly. On the other hand, an out-of-court settlement has been reached with the Walliser Bote. The Walliser Bote now explicitly acknowledges that Dominique has never been sanctioned by any judge or prosecutor for his oenological practices. The Brig-based newspaper also acknowledges having made "mistakes" in its articles about Dominique Giroud. Finally, it published a lengthy interview with him in today's edition, a French version of which is available on its website. Other details of the agreement are confidential.
