Present time<\/em>Sound familiar? It's the gem of news programmes in Switzerland and Europe. A benchmark since its creation in 1969. \"Heavyweight\", as journalists would say today. To date, the programme has never been found guilty of breaching its duty of objectivity and truthfulness. In fact, it likes to boast about it. What happened on 25 August 2016 at Aarau<\/a> is therefore historic: Present time<\/em> has been convicted of deliberately smearing the reputation of Dominique Giroud in the programme \"Affaire Giroud, du vin en eaux troubles\" broadcast on 22 January 2015. The official watchdog of RTS<\/em> (AIEP<\/em>) considers that this report was not rigorous journalism (in our view, it was even \"an insult to the profession of journalism\"), but a targeted dismantling operation aimed at harming Dominique Giroud. How can a programme like Present time<\/em> been allowed to drift so far off course? Why has RTS<\/em> has she systematically and unfairly worked to destroy Dominique Giroud's reputation, not only in this programme but also in several reports on 19:30? And what price will the RTS<\/em> will have to pay to repair the damage caused (amounting to more than 40 million francs)? The answers will come from the civil courts, where Dominique Giroud is preparing to file a claim for damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
