Le Temps<\/em>, l'ats<\/em>the RTS<\/em>, 20 minutes<\/em>, 24 Heures<\/em>the Tribune de Gen\u00e8ve<\/em>, Le Nouvelliste<\/em>, Le Matin<\/em>etc., all the media are interchangeable when it comes to the Giroud case. A few days ago (it was 25 August 2016), a decisive piece of information could have been broadcast in all these media. And what was that? The Temps Pr\u00e9sent programme on RTS<\/em> for the first time in its history, to be convicted<\/a> by the authority responsible for supervising SSR<\/em> for breach of programme law. In essence, the programme is accused of having lacked objectivity and of having knowingly carried out a dismantling operation aimed at harming Dominique Giroud. You guessed it: with one or two exceptions, not a single media outlet has published anything on the subject - especially not the RTS<\/em> directly concerned, proving once again its bad faith and lack of any respect for journalistic ethics. Today, it's the same story all over again, but in reverse. A detail is causing a media avalanche. The detail is that Dominique Giroud has lost his application to the Federal Court to reframe the scope of the tax irregularity he committed. Nothing fundamental. The tax irregularity as such was not the subject of his appeal. For years, Dominique Giroud has acknowledged that he made a mistake and has apologised for it. The gag in all this: the headlines in the media are all repeating the same stupidity like sheep, namely that Dominique Giroud will have to \"pay 10 million francs in tax\", to use a random phrase. the title of the Time<\/em><\/a>. But that's nonsense. It's not true. It is stupid. All the media, without exception, confuse income (profits) evaded from taxation with unpaid tax, the two amounts being obviously far apart, as anyone who pays tax knows. Why such a lack of professionalism? Why such silence when it comes to news that is favourable to Dominique Giroud, and such errors when it comes to perpetuating the anti-Giroud bashing? No doubt because the editorial staff no longer have the resources to do their job properly - that's the kind explanation.
