It concerns the recording by the police of telephone conversations between a journalist and one of his sources. For the first time in the history of journalism in Switzerland - and perhaps even more widely - it is possible to have access, on a day-to-day basis, for several months, to the relationship between a journalist and his informant. This corpus sheds a harsh light on certain journalistic practices. For this investigator, the end justifies any means: he cheats, lies, threatens, betrays, coerces, insults, steals and intrigues. Journalistic ethics? He sits on it. What will the journalists themselves think? Will they think that a red line has been crossed and that the Yves Steiner\/RTS case should be made an example not to be followed?
